This decision follows a recent ceasefire and ongoing discussions over a United States-backed plan, which calls for Hamas' disarmament and removal from post-war administration. While Hamas remains firm in rejecting disarmament, it has agreed to a long-term truce, provided its weapons are not used unless Gaza is attacked. A temporary technocratic Palestinian committee is being considered to manage Gaza's public services, with names for the committee already submitted and none belonging to Hamas.
