BBC Bargain Hunt expert to challenge sentence for sales to...

A former BBC Bargain Hunt art expert, Oghenochuko Ojiri, is set to challenge his prison sentence for failing to report high-value art sales to a man suspected of financing a militant group. Ojiri sold artwork worth around £140,000 to Nazem Ahmad, who is designated by United States authorities as a suspected financier for a Lebanese organisation. In June, Ojiri was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison after admitting to eight offences under the Terrorism Act, becoming the first person charged with this specific offence. His appeal will be heard at the Court of Appeal in London later this month, as his lawyers argue he was targeted by more sophisticated individuals and has lost his television work as a result of the case.
