Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has criticised the BBC for delays in providing unaired footage from its undercover Panorama investigation, which exposed racist and discriminatory behaviour by officers at Charing Cross police station. While Rowley acknowledged the importance of the BBC's journalism in uncovering misconduct, he accused the broadcaster of 'late disclosure', resulting in the postponement of misconduct hearings for several officers. Four officers have already been dismissed following accelerated hearings, with more expected to face proceedings soon. The BBC and the Independent Office for Police Conduct both stated they are cooperating with the investigation, while the Met has disbanded the entire Charing Cross custody team as part of ongoing efforts to address misconduct within the force.
