Israeli authorities have intensified home-demolition orders targeting Palestinians in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, often forcing residents to destroy their own homes under claims of lacking permits. On Monday, Taher Darbas was compelled to demolish his house in Al-Issawiya, while Israeli forces also razed homes in Furush Beit Dajan and Marj Ghazal, and continued infrastructure work for settlers in Al-Lubban. Building permits are routinely denied to Palestinians, even as Israeli settlements expand in these areas. Over the past two years, more than a thousand demolitions have affected thousands of buildings, displacing families and violating international laws that protect the right to housing. These actions have drawn accusations of war crimes and genocide against the Israeli government at international courts.
