Charges have been dropped against two reservist Border Police officers who were filmed shoving elderly Haredi worshipers at Mount Meron during last year's Lag B'Omer. The police disciplinary court dismissed the case due to delays in filing charges and concerns that punishment could discourage reservist participation in the Border Police.
The incident occurred when the northern holy site was closed to visitors over security fears, but hundreds of Haredi Jews attempted to reach the mountain, leading to clashes with law enforcement. Videos from the scene showed officers using force, including one officer throwing an elderly man to the ground and another pushing an elderly woman.
