The United States Army has announced plans to purchase at least one million drones over the next two to three years, aiming to establish a robust domestic supply chain for future production. The initiative includes stimulating domestic manufacturing of key drone components, such as motors, sensors, batteries, and circuit boards, areas currently dominated by Chinese companies. The move follows the demonstrated effectiveness of small, inexpensive drones in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, where both countries manufacture millions of drones each year, and China is believed to produce even more.
