The Pacific Institute documented more than 90 attacks on water infrastructure in Gaza and the West Bank since January 2024, including bombings, machinery damage, and poisoning incidents. Israeli forces have also been recorded targeting Palestinians collecting water, resulting in deaths and injuries, and blocking access to remaining safe water sources. According to United Nations experts, these actions constitute war crimes and are part of a broader strategy of displacement and segregation. Access to safe and affordable drinking water is recognized as a human right by the United Nations.
