The Israeli military has demolished a tunnel in northern Gaza's Beit Hanoun that was used by Hamas to carry out a deadly attack on Israeli troops in December 2024. The tunnel, which was approximately a kilometer long and located dozens of meters underground, had been a key part of Hamas's infrastructure in the area. The attack last year resulted in the deaths of three Israeli soldiers from the Shimshon Battalion. Recent operations in Beit Hanoun have focused on eliminating remaining Hamas strongholds and preventing future attacks.
