The World Health Organization is working to vaccinate over 40,000 children in the Gaza Strip as part of a campaign made possible by a recent ceasefire. More than 10,000 children under the age of three have already received vaccinations in the first phase, which has been extended to allow more children to be reached. The campaign aims to protect against diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B, tuberculosis, polio, rotavirus, and pneumonia. Future phases are planned for December and January, with the organization collaborating with partners to restore essential health services and rebuild Gaza's health system after years of conflict. The ceasefire, endorsed by the United Nations Security Council, has allowed for this humanitarian effort despite ongoing tensions and a high civilian death toll.
