Bedouin leaders in the Negev have expressed outrage after being excluded from an emergency meeting in Beersheba addressing a surge in regional violence, much of which has impacted Arab communities. The meeting, attended by Jewish local politicians and officials, was convened following several violent incidents, including a deadly shooting in Rahat. Despite the violence being concentrated in Bedouin areas, none of the nine Arab local council heads were invited to participate. Bedouin officials criticized their exclusion, emphasizing the need for cooperation and effective governance to address the proliferation of illegal weapons and rising crime.
