The Swiss government has announced an additional commitment of 23 million Swiss francs to support humanitarian efforts and institutional strengthening in Gaza, in alignment with the United States peace plan. Of this amount, 17.5 million francs will be directed toward humanitarian aid and children's needs, while 5.5 million francs will be used to bolster Palestinian institutions, primarily through the Palestinian Authority. This latest pledge brings Switzerland's total humanitarian contribution to Gaza to 150 million francs since October 2023. The Swiss Federal Council emphasized that, despite increased aid since the ceasefire, the situation in Gaza remains dire due to ongoing restrictions on access to essential goods.
