Bondi Beach massacre: Chilling moment outside shooter's home

Police have launched sweeping raids across Sydney following a deadly mass shooting at Bondi Beach, where Naveed Akram and his father opened fire during a Jewish Hanukkah celebration, killing at least 16 people and injuring 40 more. The attack, which authorities have labeled a terrorist act and an act of anti-Semitism, saw the elder gunman killed by police while Naveed was arrested with critical injuries.

The aftermath saw police descend on the Akram family home in Bonnyrigg, where a man living at the property was taken away for questioning but not arrested. Investigations are ongoing into the shooters' backgrounds, with intelligence agencies confirming one suspect was previously known to them.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the massacre, promising to bolster security for the Jewish community and vowing to eradicate hate and terrorism. The FBI is now assisting Australian authorities as the nation mourns the victims, whose ages range from 10 to 87.
