Dozens of Palestinians returned to the emptied Nur Shams refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank on Wednesday to collect personal belongings before the scheduled demolition of 25 residential buildings. The Israeli military, which has maintained a presence in the camp since an operation earlier this year targeting armed groups, allowed only those whose homes were slated for demolition to enter under tight security. Residents salvaged what they could, from furniture to family photos, as they witnessed the extensive destruction left behind. More than 32,000 people remain displaced from the affected camps, with United Nations officials describing the situation as the worst displacement crisis in the West Bank since 1967. Despite the devastation, many residents expressed determination to return and rebuild their lives.
