Lebanon's army chief has agreed to formally document progress in disarming Hezbollah, following talks in Paris with international envoys. While Israel remains skeptical of the Lebanese military's effectiveness and Hezbollah continues to resist disarmament, Thursday's meetings were described by the French foreign ministry as showing progress toward restoring the state's control over weapons. Officials emphasized the importance of documenting actions on the ground, such as dismantling weapons caches and tunnel networks, and noted that the December 31 deadline for disarmament could be extended if necessary.
