Manufacturers of dyes and intermediate chemicals in Gujarat are optimistic about rising demand, following the resolution of global supply chain challenges. Industry leaders note that plant capacity utilisation has improved from below 50 percent before Diwali to around 55-60 percent currently. The sector is still facing hurdles such as tariff issues and currency fluctuations, but the depreciation of the rupee has made exports more competitive, boosting margins for exporters. Demand from the textiles and leather industries is showing signs of recovery, and further growth is anticipated if international trade tensions ease. Gujarat's chemical industry, with over 3,000 units—most of which are small and medium enterprises—continues to supply products to major international markets through its established clusters.
