Heavy rains have flooded makeshift camps in Gaza, leaving displaced Palestinians struggling to stay dry in fragile tents and shelters. Since December 13, at least 12 people, including a newborn, have died from hypothermia or building collapses as winter conditions worsen the humanitarian crisis. With much of Gaza's infrastructure destroyed, emergency workers warn that many buildings are unsafe, but options for shelter remain scarce.

Aid deliveries have fallen short of the territory's urgent needs, with humanitarian groups reporting that the number of tents and supplies entering Gaza is far below what is required. The United Nations and other organizations have called for increased support, highlighting the dire situation faced by thousands living in waterlogged conditions.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has traveled to Washington for talks on the next stage of the ceasefire, but progress remains slow amid ongoing disputes and unresolved issues. Both sides have accused each other of violating the truce, and the future of Gaza's governance and security remains uncertain.
