Pentagon report revealing China is readying missiles sparks WWIII fear

A new report from the United States Department of War has revealed that China has armed over 100 long-range nuclear missiles capable of reaching the United States, intensifying concerns about a potential global conflict. The report details how China's military has placed these missiles in underground silos across remote regions, with the ability to quickly launch them due to solid-fuel technology. While there are around 320 silos, only about a third are currently loaded, allowing China to move missiles and keep adversaries guessing.

The findings highlight China's rapid military buildup, with projections that its nuclear arsenal could surpass 1,000 warheads by 2030. The report also warns of China's preparations for possible military action against Taiwan by 2027, as part of its broader goal to become a global superpower by 2049. Despite the rising tensions, officials say efforts are underway to deescalate the situation and maintain peaceful relations.

Globally, China now has the third largest nuclear stockpile, behind Russia and the United States, and is increasing its arsenal by about 100 warheads each year. The report underscores the growing competition and mistrust between the two countries, as China seeks to assert its interests in Asia and beyond.
