US President Donald Trump reportedly dismissed Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado as a potential interim leader after she accepted the Nobel Peace Prize, a distinction Trump himself has long desired. According to sources cited by the Washington Post, Machado's attempts to praise Trump following her award did not sway his opinion. Insiders claim that had Machado refused the prize in Trump's honor, she might have been supported as Venezuela's interim president. Instead, the United States is now working with Delcy Rodriguez, the country's interim leader, following the ousting of Nicolas Maduro.
