MK Yonatan Mashriki has called for an immediate investigation into alleged failures in providing kosher food to haredi detainees at the 416 prison. Following a visit to the facility, Mashriki reported that detainees were left without kosher meals for several days, despite repeated requests. He described the situation as a violation of basic rights, referencing both the Basic Law and a Supreme Court ruling that mandates proper conditions for detainees, including adequate nutrition. Mashriki urged the Defense Minister to intervene, ensure compliance with food provision protocols, and provide a detailed account of corrective measures. The Ministry of Defense has yet to issue a response.
