Palestinian detainee Hamza Abdullah Adwan, 67, from the Gaza Strip, has died in Israeli prison custody, according to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society. Adwan, who suffered from serious health issues, was detained at a military checkpoint in November 2024. His death brings the number of Palestinian prisoners who have died in Israeli custody since the start of the Gaza war to more than 100, with 324 deaths recorded since 1967. Rights groups report that the identities of many deceased detainees remain unconfirmed, and Adwan's family had already suffered significant losses before the war.
