Tel Aviv University has decided to ban a conference that was set to discuss allegations against members of the Israel Prison Service, following a report by Arutz Sheva. The event, titled 'Behind Bars', was organized by the Hadash Student Organization and aimed to highlight claims of mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners, including deaths, administrative detentions, and poor prison conditions as cited by human rights groups. Speakers from legal and medical organizations were scheduled to participate. After criticism from groups such as B'Tsalmo, which called the conference inciting and offensive to security personnel, the university canceled the event on campus. The organizers announced the conference will be held off campus, while public officials and activists expressed support for the university's decision and condemned the event's content.
