Yaroslava Levitska, the last living Righteous Among the Nations in Israel, was celebrated by students from Haifa's Basmat School on her ninety-first birthday. Levitska, originally from Zolochiv, risked her life as a child to help Jews during the Holocaust, smuggling food and medicine and hiding those in danger. Her story continues to inspire new generations, with the Haifa Municipality and local organizations working to preserve her legacy and the memory of the Holocaust through educational programs and commemorative activities. Haifa's mayor emphasized the importance of these intergenerational encounters in fostering compassion, responsibility, and a commitment to peace.
