Investor signs MoU to buy BioProtect for $200m

A strategic investor has signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire BioProtect, an Israeli company specializing in implants that shield healthy tissue from radiation damage, for approximately $200 million in cash. Almeda Ventures, which owns a minority stake in BioProtect, announced the deal to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and expects significant revenue and capital gains from the transaction. BioProtect was founded in 2004 by leading figures in medical innovation and has raised substantial funding from global investors. The company developed a degradable balloon implant that separates prostate tissue from other healthy tissue during radiation therapy, reducing collateral damage. Following the successful sale of its spin-off OrthoSpace and recent clinical trials proving product effectiveness, BioProtect received regulatory approval and continues to expand its product pipeline for broader medical applications.
