Rabbis from across Europe have raised alarm over a surge in antisemitism following the Hamas-led attack of October 7, highlighting a growing disconnect between Jewish community leaders and decision-makers in Jerusalem. At the annual Conference of European Rabbis in Jerusalem, Director General Gady Gronich said Jewish communities are facing increasing hostility and feel excluded from policy discussions that affect their safety and future. Gronich criticized the lack of coordination and missed opportunities to strengthen ties between Israel and European Jewish communities, warning that uncoordinated engagement with far-right political parties in Europe could cause lasting harm. He urged Israeli leaders to consult more closely with local Jewish leadership and emphasized the need for unity and dialogue amid heightened risks.
