New York man charged with hate crime for punching rabbi on Holocaust Remembrance Day

A man in New York City has been charged with a hate crime after allegedly attacking a rabbi on Holocaust Remembrance Day. The suspect, Eric Zafra Grosso, is accused of shouting an antisemitic slur and physically assaulting the rabbi, who was visibly identifiable as Jewish. The incident occurred in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Queens and follows a series of recent antisemitic acts in the city. Authorities note that Jewish residents continue to be disproportionately targeted in hate crimes across New York.
