The United States government has approved over $6.5 billion in potential military sales to Israel, including advanced Apache attack helicopters and thousands of tactical vehicles. These deals were announced as tensions in the Middle East rise and as the administration advances its ceasefire plan for Gaza, aiming to end conflict and rebuild the region. The arms packages to Israel are divided into four segments, with the largest portion dedicated to helicopters equipped with modern weaponry and targeting systems. Additional purchases include power packs for armored vehicles and utility helicopters.

The sales have drawn criticism from some lawmakers, who accuse the administration of bypassing Congressional oversight and not engaging with Congress on key policy matters. The State Department maintains that these sales will not alter the regional military balance and will bolster Israel's ability to defend itself.

Separately, the United States also approved a $9 billion sale to Saudi Arabia for hundreds of Patriot missiles and related equipment, intended to strengthen the country's air and missile defense capabilities and support stability in the Gulf region.
