Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has voiced hope that the newly established Board of Peace, led by United States President Donald Trump, will play a pivotal role in ending the conflict in Gaza and advancing a two-state solution. At a ceremony in Islamabad, Sharif thanked Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for joining the peace initiative and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in achieving lasting peace in the region.

Sharif emphasized Pakistan's commitment to the Board of Peace, which brings together global stakeholders to support dialogue and stability related to the war in the Palestinian enclave. He reiterated Pakistan's longstanding support for a geographically contiguous Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and called for joint efforts toward a permanent ceasefire and reconstruction of Gaza.
