Union minister Nitin Gadkari announced that the long-delayed Futala musical fountain in Nagpur is set to begin operations within four to six months. The project, intended as a major tourist attraction, faced setbacks due to a prolonged court case and maintenance issues, resulting in significant financial losses. With the legal hurdles now resolved, the Nagpur Metro will fund the replacement of damaged cables, paving the way for the fountain's launch.
Gadkari also highlighted substantial allocations in the Union Budget for irrigation projects in Maharashtra and Vidarbha, aiming to boost regional development and strengthen the agrarian economy. Addressing concerns about farming, he emphasized the importance of adopting advanced technology to improve productivity and reduce costs, rather than incentivizing new entrants into agriculture. Gadkari cited experiments in orange cultivation, inspired by international models, and noted that many local growers are already utilizing artificial intelligence-based systems to enhance yields.
