Norwegian police have launched an investigation into Mona Juul, a prominent diplomat, and her husband Terje Rød-Larsen over their connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Juul resigned from her ambassador post after reports surfaced that Epstein had allegedly named her children in his will. Emails from recently released files also indicate that Rød-Larsen met Epstein in Paris shortly before Epstein's arrest. The Norwegian economic crime unit is probing whether Juul received any benefits related to her official position, and a property in Oslo has been searched as part of the inquiry.
Juul and Rød-Larsen were previously involved in negotiating the Oslo Accords, and Norwegian media reports suggest Rød-Larsen had extensive communication with Epstein. The investigation comes amid a wider scandal implicating several high-profile Norwegian figures, including Crown Princess Mette-Marit, former Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland, and World Economic Forum chief executive Borge Brende, all of whom have acknowledged or are being investigated for their interactions with Epstein. Lawyers for Juul and Rød-Larsen have denied any wrongdoing and expressed confidence in the investigation's outcome.
