Israel showcases tech at Mobile World Congress despite war

Israel maintained a visible presence at Mobile World Congress Barcelona despite the ongoing war with Iran and heightened security tensions at home. The national pavilion featured 15 companies instead of the 25 originally scheduled, as travel constraints prevented some participants from attending. Even so, organizers said professional activities continued as planned.

The pavilion highlighted Israeli innovations in communications, artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies, while hosting business meetings with international corporations, investors and strategic partners. To sustain operations throughout the event, the Israel Export Institute recruited volunteers from the Israeli high technology community across Europe in coordination with government trade officials and local representatives.

Security measures were significantly reinforced in cooperation with local authorities. Organizers and officials described the country’s participation as both a commercial effort and a symbolic statement, emphasizing resilience and continuity in economic and technological activity despite the challenges of war.

Mobile World Congress is one of the largest global gatherings in the mobile and telecommunications sector, attracting tens of thousands of participants each year. Observers said Israel’s presence signaled its intention to maintain global partnerships and economic engagement despite ongoing security pressures.
