King Charles will mark Commonwealth Day with a message urging member nations to work together to ensure the organisation remains a 'force for good' during a time of global uncertainty. He highlights shared challenges including conflict, climate change and rapid transformation, saying such testing moments reveal the enduring spirit of the Commonwealth.
The annual service at Westminster Abbey will bring together senior members of the royal family, politicians, diplomats and representatives from across the 56 member states. The King and Queen will be joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales and other senior royals, alongside cultural figures and young leaders from across the Commonwealth.
In his message, the King stresses that collaboration and partnership are central to building a prosperous and sustainable future. He calls for a focus on restorative sustainability, cultural enrichment, environmental stewardship and friendship in service of the Commonwealth’s people, themes that will also shape the upcoming leaders meeting in Antigua and Barbuda later this year.
