Hallel, a young girl from Israel, has spent nearly three years battling Protein-Losing Enteropathy, a rare and life-threatening disease that leaves her without the proteins and antibodies her body needs to survive. Even minor illnesses can trigger severe complications, often leading to prolonged hospitalizations and isolation. Israeli specialists have concluded that her only chance for recovery is urgent treatment at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the United States.
As war has restricted air travel, Hallel’s mother, Talia, is waiting for critical medical documentation required to apply to a humanitarian exceptions committee that approves the limited flights leaving the country. With thousands awaiting approval, time is of the essence. Meanwhile, the family faces the immense financial burden of relocating for long-term medical care, with millions of shekels still needed to cover treatment and living expenses.
Despite the uncertainty and mounting pressure, Hallel’s parents remain determined to secure the care that could give their daughter a functioning immune system and the chance at a normal childhood. More than a thousand donors have already contributed, but significant funds are still required to make the journey possible.
