Israel's military has launched a targeted raid in southern Lebanon as part of an intensified campaign along the northern border. Troops from a division operating near Israeli border communities moved into areas west of Misgav Am after heavy air and ground strikes on Hezbollah targets. The operation is described as an intelligence driven effort to eliminate fighters and dismantle infrastructure while creating a strengthened security buffer for northern residents.
Over the past week, more than 700 targets have been struck in Lebanon, including 120 within a single day. The military reports that about 300 Hezbollah fighters have been killed and dozens of buildings destroyed. Forces deployed along the border have been doubled, with officials emphasizing that the campaign will require sustained endurance from the civilian population.
At the same time, Israel has intensified strikes inside Iran, targeting command centers, internal security bodies and missile infrastructure. Recent attacks included a ballistic missile launch site and a regional corps headquarters in Isfahan. Military officials say the broader objective is to weaken Iran's operational network, including elements tied to its nuclear program.
Despite a reported decline in missile launch activity, the military cautions that many rocket systems remain active and that operations will take time. Civil defense guidelines remain unchanged nationwide, with authorities urging residents to continue following safety instructions without complacency.
