Eleven Syrian workers were injured in an Israeli drone strike near the town of Yohmor Al-Shaqif in southern Lebanon on Sunday. The men were reportedly unloading poultry from a pickup truck at a farm when the attack occurred. Some of the wounded were transported to a hospital in Nabatieh for treatment, while others remained stranded for more than five hours before Lebanese Red Cross teams were able to reach them.
The strike took place amid a broader wave of Israeli air raids on Lebanese towns that killed 33 people the same day. Since the beginning of March, Israeli strikes across Lebanon have resulted in nearly 400 deaths, including 83 children, and more than 1,100 injuries.
The escalation follows ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, which has launched projectiles into Israel after airstrikes on Iran. Israel has responded with strikes on southern Beirut and southern Lebanon, and its forces have occupied key areas south of the Litani River. The violence has further strained the situation for Syrians in Lebanon, thousands of whom have returned to Syria since the conflict intensified.
