Tensions along the Lebanon-Syria-Israel border escalated after approximately 30 projectiles were launched toward Israel, with reported targets including a military base and tanks. In response, Israeli strikes continued across southern Lebanon, hitting areas in the districts of Tyre, Nabatieh, and Bint Jbeil.
Syria's military reported that artillery shells fired from Lebanon landed near Saraghaya, west of Damascus, and accused Hezbollah of targeting Syrian army positions. Damascus said it had detected Hezbollah reinforcements along the Syrian-Lebanese border and is closely monitoring developments.
The Syrian army warned it could respond to any attacks on its territory while coordinating with the Lebanese army. Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara cautioned that the growing confrontation represents an existential threat to the region, raising fears of a broader conflict.
