United States special envoy Steve Witkoff said he and Jared Kushner may travel to Israel next week to coordinate on Iran, though the visit has not been finalized. He denied that an earlier plan was scrapped بسبب disagreements over Israel's strikes on Iranian oil facilities, emphasizing that the purpose of the trip is strategic alignment.
Witkoff insisted that Israel and Washington share the same objectives in the war, rejecting suggestions of differing end goals. He argued that Israel faces an existential threat from Iran and maintained that Tehran has refused to return to negotiations since the conflict began on February 28. According to Witkoff, the American president remains open to talks, but only from a position of strength.
Addressing the state of Iran's nuclear program, Witkoff said the United States has destroyed almost all of Iran's uranium enrichment and conversion capabilities, while acknowledging that the program was not entirely eliminated. He cited Iran's refusal to allow United Nations inspectors access to nuclear sites and pointed to its stockpile of uranium enriched to 60 percent as evidence of potential weapons ambitions. Witkoff also said Russia has denied reports that it is sharing intelligence with Iran and expressed hope that Moscow is being truthful.
