The strikers on Newcastle's radar as they plan summer swoop

Newcastle have cancelled plans for a warm weather training trip to Dubai during the upcoming international break due to safety concerns amid conflict in the region. The squad members not on international duty were due to travel after the Tyne Wear derby, but staff and players will now be given time off instead. The club have also ruled out a long haul pre season tour to the United States, opting instead for a European base in Austria, Portugal or Spain.

Attention is already turning to the summer transfer window, with Newcastle actively seeking another striker despite heavy investment in the position last year. Dominic Solanke is among the names under consideration, while Inter Milan forward Pio Esposito is admired but likely too expensive. Liam Delap is also being monitored, and the club are exploring additional options in what is viewed as a difficult market.

Recruitment plans also include targeting young wide players, with Cologne winger Said El Mala and Union Saint Gilloise winger Anan Khalaili on the radar. Meanwhile, there is positive injury news as Bruno Guimaraes and Fabian Schar are expected to return in early April, potentially boosting the team for the final stretch of the domestic campaign and European fixtures. The club are also investing in stadium improvements, including enhanced mobile coverage and new giant screens at St James Park ahead of next season.
