The United States Central Command said a refueling aircraft crashed in western Iraq during what officials described as an apparent accident involving another tanker. The incident took place in friendly airspace as part of Operation Epic Fury.
According to the military, two aircraft were involved. One plane went down in western Iraq, while the second landed safely. Officials emphasized that the crash was not the result of hostile or friendly fire.
