The Israel Defense Forces said it killed two senior Hezbollah commanders in a strike north of the Litani River in southern Lebanon. The men were identified as Rahif Ali Qassem, head of Hezbollah's rocket and missile unit in the Badr regional division, and Mohammad Baqer Ahmad Ali, described as the unit's firepower management commander.
According to the military, the Badr division is responsible for the area north of the Litani River and is one of three regional divisions operated by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The military also said that most of Hezbollah's recent rocket and drone attacks on Israel have been launched from deeper בתוך southern Lebanon rather than from areas near the border.
