Satellite imagery released by the European Space Agency shows the strategic island, which handles the vast majority of Iran's oil shipments.

Trump said he deliberately chose not to strike the island's oil infrastructure 'for reasons of decency,' but warned that this restraint could change. He cautioned that any attempt by Iran or others to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz would prompt him to reconsider targeting the energy facilities.

Declaring that Iran has no ability to defend against American strikes, Trump reiterated that Iran will never obtain a nuclear weapon or threaten the United States, the Middle East, or the world. He also called on Iran's security forces to lay down their arms and 'save what's left of their country.'
