The Latest: Iran threatens UAE as Trump urges US allies to send...

President Donald Trump urged allies to send warships to help secure the Strait of Hormuz as fighting between Iran, the United States and Israel intensified. Iran called on people to evacuate three ports in the United Arab Emirates, including the region’s busiest port, marking its first direct threat against a neighboring country’s non American assets. Tehran accused the United States of using facilities in the Emirates to launch strikes on its key oil export terminal on Kharg Island, without offering evidence.

The United Arab Emirates reported a missile attack and urged residents to remain in safe locations, while Israel said Iran launched another round of missiles toward its territory, triggering sirens in Tel Aviv. In Iraq, six American service members were killed when a military refueling aircraft crashed during operations related to the conflict.

Meanwhile, Israel’s war against Hezbollah has worsened Lebanon’s humanitarian crisis, with hundreds killed and hundreds of thousands displaced. The expanding regional violence underscores growing instability across the Middle East as hostilities show no sign of easing.
