Tour companies concerned about upheaval in summer travel market as West Asia conflict hits itineraries | Pune News - The Times of India

Travel companies in Pune are facing major disruptions in the summer holiday season as the ongoing West Asia conflict affects popular international routes. Many travellers who had booked trips to destinations such as Dubai and parts of Europe are now reconsidering or postponing their plans due to safety concerns and uncertainty over flight schedules. Tour operators say the crisis has struck just as the peak travel season was about to begin.

Several families who had saved for months for international vacations are now being advised to either wait or explore alternative destinations. Travel agencies report a surge in anxious queries from clients, particularly because Dubai serves as a key transit hub for Europe. Even if tensions ease, industry representatives believe travellers may remain cautious about returning to affected regions immediately.

In response, companies are shifting focus toward eastern destinations such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and China. Airlines are also expected to prioritize routes to these regions as demand patterns change. Despite these adjustments, agents say they are currently overwhelmed managing existing bookings and cancellations before promoting new travel options.
