Kuwait has arrested 10 citizens accused of belonging to a banned group affiliated with the Iran-backed Lebanese movement Hezbollah and plotting attacks on vital infrastructure, according to the interior ministry. Authorities said the State Security Agency foiled a planned terrorist operation targeting key installations.
Officials released footage of items allegedly seized during the operation, including flags linked to the group, small drones, and images of Iranian and Hezbollah leaders. The arrests come amid heightened regional tensions as Iran-backed groups have been involved in the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Earlier in the week, Kuwait announced the arrest of 16 more individuals, including 14 Kuwaitis and two Lebanese nationals, also accused of links to Hezbollah and planning acts of sabotage. Authorities said weapons, surveillance drones, and coded communication devices were confiscated, while Hezbollah denied that any of its members were among those detained.
