Israeli security forces said five Israeli citizens were arrested after extremist settlers carried out attacks in the West Bank, leaving a police officer and several Palestinians injured. The violence occurred in the village of Deir Khatab, where settlers allegedly set fire to vehicles and structures following the death of an 18-year-old Israeli in a vehicle collision that is being investigated as a possible terror attack.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, nine Palestinians were wounded during the unrest. Israeli forces, including the Israel Defense Forces, police and Border Police, responded to reports of arson and public disturbances. During searches near the area, security personnel found weapons in a suspicious vehicle and detained five suspects for questioning.
In a separate incident near the settlement of Yitzhar, several Israelis reportedly attacked security forces, injuring a police officer and damaging a security vehicle. Israeli authorities said they condemn all acts of violence, warning that such incidents undermine overall security.
