CENTCOM chief: Iran military chiefs 'in deep bunkers', targeting civilians in 'sign of desperation'; campaign is 'ahead or on plan'

The head of the United States military's Central Command said Iran is targeting civilian sites in what he described as a 'sign of desperation' as the war enters its fourth week. In an interview with a Farsi language satellite network, he said Iran has deliberately struck civilian targets more than 300 times and continues to endanger people across Gulf Arab states and the broader Middle East.

He noted that the volume of Iranian missile and drone fire has declined, dropping from large barrages to one or two launches at a time. He said the United States campaign is 'ahead or on plan' and is focused not only on immediate threats but also on destroying missile and drone manufacturing facilities and naval capabilities to prevent future attacks.

The commander said senior Iranian military leaders are sheltering in deep bunkers while frontline troops remain exposed to airstrikes. He also urged Iranian civilians to remain indoors for now, saying missiles and drones are being launched from populated areas and that a clear signal would be given when it is safe to come out.
