Nine days after Israeli security forces fatally shot a Palestinian couple and their two young children in the West Bank village of Tammun, none of the Border Police officers involved has been questioned, according to a report by Haaretz. Authorities said officers believed the family’s car was speeding toward them, and an investigation into the incident has been opened.
An 11-year-old survivor, Khaled Bani Awda, told Palestinian media that gunfire was directed straight at the vehicle. He said that after the shooting, soldiers pulled him from the car, restrained him, and pressured him to explain what had happened.
The boy stated that he told officers his family had been shopping in Nablus and were returning home when they were shot. He alleged that an officer called him a liar and struck him in the face during the interrogation.
