Restrictions on Israeli airspace expected to stay in place through April 16, pending developments

Israel's wartime restrictions on national airspace are expected to remain in effect through April 16, depending on security developments. Aviation authorities have extended a technical notice to airmen that maintains existing limitations and can be updated or shortened at any time.

The restrictions have been in place since February 28, when Israel began joint military operations with the United States against Iran. Although the airspace partially reopened in early March for repatriation flights, only Israeli airlines are currently permitted to operate under a limited wartime schedule.

Foreign airlines remain barred from flying to and from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport. International aviation safety agencies have also issued warnings advising caution for flights in the region.
