78% of Jewish Israelis back Iran war, but fervent support dropping, IDI survey finds

A new survey by the Israel Democracy Institute finds that 78 percent of Jewish Israelis support the ongoing war against Iran, though the intensity of that support has declined in recent weeks. While a clear majority continues to back the conflict, opposition has risen to 11.5 percent, up from 4 percent in earlier surveys conducted during the war.

Strong support has dropped significantly, with only 50 percent of respondents saying they strongly support the war, compared to 74 percent at the beginning of the month. The findings suggest that although overall backing remains high, enthusiasm is softening as the conflict continues.

Among Arab Israelis, opposition remains the dominant view. Just 19 percent say they support the war, down from 27 percent at the start of the month, reflecting a continued and growing gap in opinion between Jewish and Arab citizens.
