Jerusalem District police commander Avshalom Peled visited the site of a ballistic missile strike on the outskirts of Jerusalem, surveying the damage before leaving without addressing the media.
The missile injured three people, one of them moderately, according to the Magen David Adom emergency service. The impact created a large crater in a highway, severely damaging the surrounding area.
Police bomb disposal experts are searching for additional munitions, and authorities have not ruled out further hazards. The blast destroyed a traffic sign, heavily damaged several vehicles, and scattered debris across the roadway, which remains closed in both directions as cleanup operations continue.
