Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reportedly shouted at President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff during a tense meeting in Geneva aimed at preventing a military conflict, according to a report by the National Broadcasting Company.
During the exchange, Araghchi asserted that Iran has an 'inalienable right' to enrich uranium. Witkoff responded that the United States has an 'inalienable right' to stop Iran. At one point, Witkoff told Araghchi, 'If you prefer, I can leave,' after the Iranian minister raised his voice.
Following the meeting, Witkoff and Jared Kushner briefed Trump, who was described as unperturbed. Less than two days later, the United States carried out military strikes against Iran.
